I adopted Chumbley in August of 2001 and then later adopted Jazz. Jazz was a special dog and we loved having her in our lives. Jazz passed away at the age of 13 and then we lost Chumbley to a stroke In October of 2014.

Chumbley was an absolutely amazing dog. He was my pal and like a best friend or soul mate. It was wonderful to have him in our lives for 13 years. He traveled everywhere with me. He always traveled to the shore with me and to visit my son and his family in Ohio.

He truly was the best dog I could ever imagine having in my life and was “man’s best friend”. Chumbley and I moved in with my Mom in 2011 to help care for her and he was so sweet and gentle with her. He was great company for her during the day while I was at work. I can’t thank you enough for allowing both Jazz and Chumbley to be part of our lives. It has taken me a long time to grieve over Chumbley’s loss.

* We do not permit adoptions of shelties as gifts. If you would like to give one as a gift you can contact us for advice on how to handle the situation.
Please note that we do NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10. Herding dogs, especially shelties, tend to chase whatever/whoever is running & they often will nip at the back of legs in their attempt to gather everyone into a neat, manageable area.
If you cannot adopt but would like to make a donation or to sponsor one of our forever fosters, seniors or special needs dogs, please email us.
