London is a 5 year old spayed female. She's on the smaller side at 19 lbs and is a little overweight. She was an apartment dog all 5 years of her life and did not go outside much at all. Her owners said she didn't like going for walks so they let her use pee pads in the apartment. She did not get along with the other dog in the house so they decided to surrender her to rescue.

We are now accepting adoption applications for this teeny girl. She weighs 19 lbs and is a bit overweight. London will need to be an ONLY DOG as she does not like to share her space or toys with other dogs, but is asking for attention and pets from her foster mom. She walks well on a leash but is still a little nervous when she is outside so we are requiring a fenced yard for her. She is still getting the hang of pottying outside but is letting her foster mom know when she needs to go out. Her adoptive home will need to help finish this training.

Right now London is in a foster home. She does ok with the 2 dogs the foster mom has but they are very low key dogs but she is pretty protective of her crate and toys. London would really rather be an only dog so we will be placing her in a home with that understanding. Her foster mom said she was nervous at first being in the yard but now appears to enjoy sitting out on the deck in the sun. She's also pottying outside and is even letting her foster mom know when she needs to go out. Her foster mom is also taking her for short walks and she is starting to enjoy those as well now. Because she is still a little nervous outside at first we are requiring a fenced yard for London.

She went to the vet to get caught up on vaccinations and such and was very well behaved with the vet. A little nervous at first but was happy to take treats and make friends. She has an ear infection that she's being treated for right now.

If you are interested in London please go the the Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of NJ website and fill out an Adoption Application.

* We do not permit adoptions of shelties as gifts. If you would like to give one as a gift you can contact us for advice on how to handle the situation.
Please note that we do NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10. Herding dogs, especially shelties, tend to chase whatever/whoever is running & they often will nip at the back of legs in their attempt to gather everyone into a neat, manageable area.
If you cannot adopt but would like to make a donation or to sponsor one of our forever fosters, seniors or special needs dogs, please email us.
