All the Puppy Fun But Less of the Puppy Mess!
Lillie and Maple turned 1 year old on 11/27/17. These adorable and loving pups need to stay together as they are very bonded. They ended up in rescue due to changing family circumstances. You can tell they were loved and very well taken care of. Lillie and Maple have been through puppy training and know basic commands. Even though they look and move very much alike, they have very different personalities. Lillie is more outgoing and will greet you quickly. Maple is shy, but warms up to you quickly. These girls would do well in agility. They are smart, food motivated, and want to please you. They have tons of energy, but when it is bedtime, they sleep very well. Maple and Lillie sit nicely when it is time to put leashes on an walk well on a leash. They are housebroken. But please remember, they are still puppies and will need to learn how to tell you it is time to go potty. They learned very quickly in their foster home. They get along well with other dogs. They were not tested with cats.
If you are interested in adopting Lillie and Maple please go the the Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of NJ website and fill out an Adoption Application or if you are interested in donating to help our shelties find forever homes, please go to our DONATION web page. Thank you.
* We do not permit adoptions of shelties as gifts. If you would like to give one as a gift you can contact us for advice on how to handle the situation.
Please note that we do NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10. Herding dogs, especially shelties, tend to chase whatever/whoever is running & they often will nip at the back of legs in their attempt to gather everyone into a neat, manageable area.
If you cannot adopt but would like to make a donation or to sponsor one of our forever fosters, seniors or special needs dogs, please email Aneita.
