Scottie was adopted 4/1/2011

December19, 2010, until further notice, we will not be accepting any future applications for Scottie.

Please take a look at our other shelties; we are currently adding new dogs daily.

Scottie is a little guy, weighing in at about 13 pounds. He is a 5 years old sable and white male. The Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of NJ was imformed by a friend that a shy sheltie was in the Cumberland County SPCA and Animal Shelter in Vineland. After contacting them, they were so kind in letting us pick Scottie up.

Recommendations are as follows; A quiet home with no children under the age of 15. The home should have a solid routine and experienced dog owners willing and able to follow recommended training procedures to help boost confidence and not allow unwanted behavior through positive reinforcement training. Cats are possible since he seems to have a low prey drive, but it should be tested first.

* We do not permit adoptions of shelties as gifts. If you would like to give one as a gift you can contact us for advice on how to handle the situation.
Please note that we do NOT adopt to homes with children under the age of 10. Herding dogs, especially shelties, tend to chase whatever/whoever is running & they often will nip at the back of legs in their attempt to gather everyone into a neat, manageable area.
If you cannot adopt but would like to make a donation or to sponsor one of our forever fosters, seniors or special needs dogs, please email Aneita.
